Our Mission
The Castle Howard Foundation focuses on the restoration and preservation of Castle Howard’s built heritage, on safeguarding its natural environment, and on promoting public access to this culturally and historically significant place.
The CASTLE HOWARD FOUNDATION - OBJECTIVEs and charitable aim
A) The maintenance, restoration, repair and preservation of Castle Howard, and its associated
historic structures and landscape as a place of natural beauty and rich biodiversity.
B) The provision of facilities and services to promote the study, appreciation and understanding
of Castle Howard’s built and natural environment, in their historical, cultural, architectural,
social and ecological contexts.
C) The display and interpretation at Castle Howard of artistic works and artefacts, and the
programming of cultural experiences for the purposes of public engagement.
D) The promotion and support of heritage, craft and other skills and training essential to support objectives A, B and C.
